The band was originally formed in 1968 as the Round Lake Area Community Band and
directed by the well-known Ms. Barbara Buehlman. The first years of the
band saw strong growth and excellent performance including competition
championships. After a break from 1982 to 1992 Mr Dwason revived the band
at the Round Lake Area Symphonic Winds. In 2002 the band's Board changed
the name back to the original.
