Kalamazoo, Mich (June 6, 2024) - Following the devastating May tornados in Portage, Carson Hocevar decided to partner with Zeigler Auto Group to host "the Drive for Kalamazoo County Tornado Relief," which raised over $30,000  for the Kalamazoo Community Foundation and United Way to help those affected by the natural disaster.

Although no one was hurt or injured, the tornados left many businesses and properties impacted. For many people affected, insurance was able to help with costs, but there were many that didn't have that luxury.

"It's important to give back. Obviously, it was very scary with the tornado but hats off to Team Zeigler to put all of this together. They have a beautiful facility and great staff to be able to pull this off. I'm just the lucky one to be able to do this and help and be a part of a night to hopefully put some money towards a really good cause," said Hocevar at the event. Insured or not, some policies drew the line at specific arborist laws and included specific requirements for trees on certain lands.

Close to 200 people gathered at Zeigler Motorsports in Kalamazoo to help raise funds for those affected. Besides a special appearance by Carson Hocevar and family, the auto group had the Zeigler.com No. 77 Camaro replica on-site for photo-ops.

Other highlights included a live auction with two quarter panels from recent races available to help raise funds. Ultimately, the big ticket items included a $2,000 bid for a pair of NASCAR Cup Series VIP Pit passes.
