to the Sharing Center, bringing its total over $100,000 since 2018

Zeigler Subaru of Kenosha recently donated $25,885 to local charity the Sharing Center, a local food pantry and support center. Since 2018, the Zeigler dealer has donated over $100,000 in support of the organization, helping keep the nonprofit open during the height of the pandemic. Besides this charity, Zeigler Subaru of Kenosha also supports various other local organizations.

Kenosha, Wis. (July 5, 2022) Zeigler Subaru of Kenosha recently presented local charity the Sharing Center with a $26,885 check as part of the Subaru Share the Love Event held annually at the store. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Zeigler dealer has chosen the local nonprofit as its beneficiary, donating over $100,000 since 2018.

As a 501(c) 3 Charity, the Sharing Center serves Western Kenosha County, providing a wide range of services to the community's most vulnerable citizens. Besides its food pantry and mental health services, the organization also provides donated clothing, supplies and home goods. Also in an effort to reduce or prevent homelessness, the Sharing Center provides electricity and rent assistance to those at risk.

Every year, Zeigler Subaru of Kenosha donates up to $300 per car sold during the Subaru Share the Love Event that runs from November through January 1st. While customers have a choice between four major charities, most customers choose the Sharing Center as their preferred organization, giving the local nonprofit much needed funds to help with their mission. Laurie Myra, a sales associate at the dealer, was the one to first nominate the organization back in 2018.

"During the Share The Love Event our wonderful customers chose to donate to our local charity, The Sharing Center, at a rate of 3 o 1! This shows that not only is Zeigler Subaru committed to our community but our customers are as well," said Michael Bihun, GM at Zeigler Subaru of Kenosha.

Sharon Pomaville, the Executive Director of the Sharing Center says that the center is the only source to help families west of the Interstate in Kenosha County. Because of this she has found ways to make donations go further, even quadruple funds donated by Zeigler Subaru of Kenosha in order to help as many people as possible. "We paid it forward and Shared The Love with rural Kenosha County in a way only made possible through this level of support. Here at the Sharing Center, we say, "THANK YOU" and promise to continue to pay it forward and Share the Love in rural Wisconsin."

Thanks to its ongoing partnership with the Zeigler dealer, the Sharing Center was able to stay open during the pandemic and provide crisis help, emergency food, rent and utility assistance, COVID-19 information, vaccination clinics, and domestic violence & mental health services. In addition, they were the hub of all homeless services within a 200-square mile area and piloted a historic home-delivered student summer meal program  which served 86,000 meals that summer. Besides this, the organization continued to be a source of information, comfort, and care in a time of uncertainty and crisis.

Besides the Share the Love Event, the Zeigler Subaru dealer partners with the local charity throughout the year providing them with much needed waterproof blankets for the homeless, and personal supplies such as socks, underwear and hygiene products. The Zeigler dealer has also hosted food drives and other events in benefit of the nonprofit.
